Dr Azra Kreho-Staka qualified as a General Practitioner in Croatia before relocating to New Zealand, where she gained her New Zealand certification in 1996. She brings decades of experience in primary care and is also a Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Auckland Medical School, where she is actively involved in teaching and mentoring future generations of GPs. Dr Azra is committed to maintaining high professional standards and contributing to the ongoing development of general practice in New Zealand.

Dr Azra has a special interest in Women’s Health, Menopause care, and Family Health. She is passionate about supporting patients through all stages of life, with a particular focus on providing thoughtful, evidence-based care tailored to individual needs. Her approach is centred on building long-term relationships with patients and families, ensuring continuity of care and a supportive, collaborative environment.

Outside of medicine, Dr Azra is a proud mother of two adult children. She enjoys playing the piano and makes the most of New Zealand’s beautiful summers by spending as much time as possible at the beach.

Dr Rosie practiced medicine in Croatia before immigrating to New Zealand with her family 25 years ago. Since then, she has worked in general practice throughout the greater Auckland region, building strong connections within the communities she serves. She brings many years of experience in primary care and is dedicated to supporting the health and wellbeing of individuals and families.

Her focus is on providing comprehensive family care, with a strong emphasis on continuity of care and supporting patients at every stage of life. She values the relationships built through general practice and enjoys being part of the team at RVMC while contributing to the wider community.

Outside of work, she enjoys hiking and spending quality time with her granddaughters.

MBChB | General Practitioner

Dr Lisa graduated from the University of Otago Medical School in 2012. Before entering medicine, she completed a Bachelor of Science and a Postgraduate Diploma in Sport and Exercise Science and Psychology, and worked at the University of Auckland Exercise and Rehabilitation Clinic. Following her medical training, she worked in hospitals across Auckland before moving into General Practice in South Auckland, later joining the team at RVMC.

She enjoys all aspects of general practice and values working closely with patients and their families to achieve the best possible health outcomes. Her special interests include children’s health, women’s health, and the management of chronic conditions.

Outside of work, she lives locally with her daughter and enjoys spending time with family and friends.

MBChB, MRCGP (2016), PGCertMedEd, FRNZCGP | General Practitioner

Dr Karina graduated from the University of Aberdeen, Scotland in 2011. After initially undertaking broader medical training, she quickly developed a passion for General Practice and went on to complete further GP training in both Scotland and England, qualifying in 2016. She also holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education (2018), reflecting her strong commitment to the training and development of primary care practitioners and medical students.

While her clinical interests remain broad across all areas of General Practice, Dr Karina is a strong advocate for evidence-based medicine. She is dedicated to keeping her clinical knowledge current through ongoing professional development, including staying up to date with guidelines, new treatment approaches, and attending international conferences to ensure her patients receive the most effective and up-to-date care possible.

Outside of work, Karina enjoys travelling, running, and maintaining an active lifestyle. Family life is very important to her, and being a mother to her three young children enriches and complements the compassionate care she provides to her patients. She also speaks Spanish.

MBChB | General Practitioner

Dr Grace graduated from the University of Auckland in 2019. After spending three years working in hospitals across Auckland, she began training towards a fellowship in General Practice. During this time, she also completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Health Sciences in Women’s Health, further developing her knowledge and skills in this area.

Dr Grace has a particular interest in Women’s Health, but she especially enjoys the diversity that general practice offers. She values the opportunity to care for people in the community and appreciates the multifaceted nature of general practice, supporting patients through a wide range of health concerns and stages of life.

Outside of work, Grace enjoys walking, reading fiction, and exploring both local and international food scenes whenever she has the chance.

MBChB | General Practitioner

Dr Ramadan is an experienced and compassionate General Practitioner who has been providing high-quality care to patients since September 2021. He has worked as a senior doctor in both New Zealand and England for over two decades, bringing extensive experience across clinical and surgical medicine to his work in general practice.

Dr Oumer has a particular interest in minor surgical procedures, including the treatment of various skin conditions and other common conditions that can be managed in a primary care setting. He is committed to providing safe, effective care using modern techniques and tools, and values helping patients access convenient treatment within their GP practice.

Outside of work, Dr Oumer is a devoted father of five and enjoys spending time with his family. He also enjoys hiking and nature walks. He is fluent in Arabic and is able to communicate effectively with patients from diverse cultural backgrounds.

Dr Rao was born in Mumbai, India, and moved to Auckland in 1999. She grew up in central Auckland where she completed her primary, intermediate, and secondary schooling before moving to Dunedin to study at the University of Otago. She holds both a Bachelor of Science and a Medical degree from Otago and has worked across Auckland’s major hospitals, gaining experience in a wide range of specialties before ultimately choosing to focus on community-based medicine.

Dr Rao has a special interest in Women’s Health and General Medicine. She enjoys supporting patients across all stages of life and is committed to providing thoughtful, patient-centred care within the general practice setting.

Outside of work, Dr Rao enjoys spending time with family and friends, exploring Auckland’s vibrant café and restaurant scene, and travelling whenever she has the opportunity.

Practice Manager

Vicki is an experienced Practice Manager with over 25 years in operational management across a variety of sectors. She studied Business Management and Accounting at Massey University and has spent almost 20 years working in healthcare, across both public and private settings. She has been the Practice Manager at RVMC for over four years, bringing a wealth of knowledge and strong leadership to the team.

Vicki is passionate about delivering efficient, high-quality healthcare services and supporting both staff and patients within a well-run practice environment. She is committed to continuous improvement and ensuring the practice operates smoothly while maintaining a strong focus on patient care.

Outside of work, Vicki is a proud mother of three adult children and an avid sports fan. She enjoys playing netball year-round and staying active.

Lead Nurse

Sarah is a highly experienced primary care nurse at Remuera Village Medical Centre, bringing over three decades of diverse clinical and leadership expertise to the team. She holds a Diploma in Nursing from AUT and a Graduate Diploma in Business in Health Management from the University of Auckland.

Her extensive career spans public and private healthcare sectors both in New Zealand and London. Sarah's background includes specialized roles in emergency care, intensive care, and cardiothoracics, alongside significant leadership experience as the Charge Nurse Manager of Radiology for ADHB.

Now focused on primary care, Sarah specializes in older persons' healthcare. She is deeply committed to patient-centered care, working collaboratively with our general practitioners to promote long-term health, independence, and strong community relationships for all RVMC patients.

Outside of the clinic, Sarah lives in Mount Roskill with her husband and two teenage children. She is a tennis player, enjoys swimming in the surf at Piha, and regularly explores the local maunga.

Practice Nurse

Louisa is a highly experienced Practice Nurse who trained as a Registered General and Obstetric Nurse at Greenlane Hospital over 40 years ago. She has been a valued member of the RVMC team for almost 22 years, bringing extensive clinical knowledge and a deep commitment to patient care. Prior to joining RVMC, she worked in the Emergency Department at Auckland Hospital, gaining valuable experience in acute care.

Louisa is passionate about patient advocacy and strongly believes in supporting patients to feel heard, informed, and cared for. This principle, instilled during her nursing training, continues to guide her approach in providing compassionate, patient-centred care.

Outside of work, Louisa is a proud mother of four adult children and grandmother to six grandchildren. She enjoys spending time with her family and cherishing those special moments together.

Practice Nurse

Ruby graduated from Manukau Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Nursing in 2018 and has been a valued member of the RVMC team for almost four years. She is a dedicated and hardworking nurse who is committed to providing high-quality care within the primary care setting.

Ruby is passionate about serving the community through general practice and takes pride in delivering patient-centred, culturally appropriate, and holistic care. With her friendly nature and strong communication skills, she works effectively within a multidisciplinary team and builds positive relationships with patients from diverse backgrounds.

Outside of work, Ruby enjoys an active lifestyle including playing badminton, gardening, and travelling. She also values spending time with her family. Ruby is fluent in Mandarin, Cantonese, and English.

Practice Nurse

Cassie is a highly experienced Registered Nurse with over 20 years in the profession, bringing a wealth of knowledge and dedication to her role as a Practice Nurse. She graduated from the University of South Australia in 1998 and went on to build strong clinical experience in Neurology, Neurosurgery, and Respiratory care at The Royal Adelaide and The Queen Elizabeth Hospitals. Cassie later relocated to Sydney, where she spent 12 years working at Liverpool Hospital across a wide range of areas including Emergency, Coronary Care, Aged Care, and other medical and surgical specialties. After moving to New Zealand in 2018, she renewed her nursing competencies to continue her career here.

Cassie is passionate about delivering high-quality patient care and enjoys the variety that comes with working in general practice. She values building relationships with patients and supporting them across all aspects of their health and wellbeing.

Outside of work, Cassie enjoys keeping active at the gym, walking her dogs around St Heliers, and cheering on her two sporty sons. She also has a unique passion for rescuing and rehoming unwanted axolotls.

Practice Administrator

Fi has been the Practice Administrator at RVMC since May 2023 and brings a strong background in healthcare to her role. She has worked in the health sector since 2018, beginning in a clinical role before transitioning into medical administration, where she spent two years as a Medical Receptionist prior to joining the RVMC team.

Fi plays a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the practice and takes pride in contributing to an efficient, well-run, and patient-focused environment. As a senior member of the administrative team, she is dedicated to supporting both staff and patients while helping maintain the high standards of care at RVMC.

Outside of work, Fi is a proud mum to three daughters and a grandmother to one grandson. She enjoys going to the gym, spending time at the beach, and making the most of time with her family.

Reception

Annie brings over 12 years of experience as an Office Manager prior to joining RVMC, where she has now been a valued member of the team for nearly seven years. Her strong administrative background and organisational skills support the smooth day-to-day running of the practice.

Annie enjoys being part of the close-knit, family-oriented culture at RVMC and takes pride in contributing to a welcoming and supportive environment for both patients and staff.

Outside of work, Annie lives locally and enjoys staying active through Pilates, gardening, and walking. She also loves socialising with family and friends and spending quality time with her grandchildren.

Reception

Samantha has been a valued member of the RVMC team for four years. During her time at the practice, she discovered a passion for the medical field and is now pursuing a career in nursing. She currently works part-time on reception while completing her Nursing Degree at the University of Auckland.

Samantha enjoys being part of the healthcare environment and contributing to a positive experience for patients. She is dedicated to her studies and looks forward to continuing her journey in nursing.

Outside of work and study, Samantha enjoys spending time with her cats, Tabby and Teddy.

Reception

Beryl is one of the friendly receptionists at RVMC and brings valuable experience from working as a medical receptionist in both New Zealand and Brisbane before returning home. She is a valued member of the team and enjoys supporting the smooth running of the practice while contributing to a positive patient experience.

Beryl loves being the first point of contact for patients and takes pride in creating a warm, welcoming environment for everyone who walks through the doors. She is passionate about supporting the community and ensuring patients feel comfortable and cared for from the moment they arrive.

Outside of work, Beryl enjoys spending time with family and friends, watching sports, and relaxing with a good movie or great music. She is always up for a good laugh and brings a friendly, uplifting energy to those around her.

Reception

Tia joined the RVMC team six months ago and has quickly become a valued member of the administration team. Her interest in medical administration began during a temporary receptionist role at Greenlane Medical Centre, where she discovered a passion for working in a healthcare environment.

Tia enjoys supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the practice and helping create a positive experience for patients. She values being part of a team that is dedicated to delivering quality care to the community.

Outside of work, Tia enjoys arts and crafts, listening to music, and caring for animals.
